behaviour Consultation

The first step in helping your dog to overcome challenging behaviours.

The behaviour Consultation in detail:

The Discovery Call

A 15 minute telephone call to better understand your challenge and aspirations for your dog. This conversation sets the stage for the in-home consultation.

The Questionaire

I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire to help me better understand your dog, their history and their environment before our first meeting. I will also ask your vet for your dog's clinical history, if appropriate.

The Consultation Session

A 1.5 - 2 hour visit at your home to meet with you and your dog in their usual surroundings. During this meeting, we will fully explore every aspect of your dog's behaviour and endeavour to understand the motivation behind the challenges.

The Report

Following the consultation, I will provide you with a comprehensive report to summarise the key issues identified, the probable cause, and clear and actionable steps to manage them. For more complex behavioural challenges there may also be a recommendation for additional follow-up behaviour sessions. These sessions are designed to teach and support you to help your dog overcome their challenging behaviour(s). Those are optional and not part of the initial consultation session.

The Check-Up

Around 2 weeks after our first session we will arrange a call to check how things are progressing and to confirm the next steps.

How to Book your Behaviour modification

FAQ Dog Behaviour Consultation

The Initial Behaviour Consultation includes a discovery phone call, an in-home assessment of your dog’s behaviour, a personalised action plan and a check-up call after the first weeks. I’ll discuss the issues, observe your dog and provide you with a plan to address the behaviour.

The first consultation typically lasts around 1.5 hours. This allows sufficient time for a thorough assessment and discussion of the action plan.

Training a dog requires a consistent effort over a period of time. How much and how long completely depends on where you are starting and the outcomes you want to achieve.

After the Initial Consultation, I’ll recommend whether follow-up sessions are needed based on your dog’s progress and the complexity of the issues. These sessions help ensure ongoing support and adjustment of the action plan as needed.
